Let’s talk about color- because let’s be honest, a home without color is like a story without a plot. Whether it’s rich emerald green, a playful pop of coral, or a sunlit mustard yellow, color brings life, personality, and depth to your space. It tells people who you are without saying a word. And for me, color isn’t just decoration- it’s a design philosophy.

But here’s the thing: while color is having a major moment (and we love that!), the trend cycle can sometimes lead us into a design trap. One minute it’s all about sage green cabinets, the next it's beige everything. The truth? What’s “in” today might feel tired tomorrow and your home should never feel like a showroom that’s waiting for the next trend to hit.

I always tell clients: don’t decorate for Instagram, design for yourself. Trends can be great for inspiration, but they shouldn’t override your personal style. If bold color speaks to you, go for it. If soft, neutral layers feel more like home, lean into that. The magic happens when you blend what you love with intentional design. That’s when a space feels real; that’s when it becomes yours.

For those of us who adore color (and I really do), it’s all about balance and tone. Pair vibrant hues that share a similar depth or temperature- like rusts with warm golds, or deep blues with rich plums. It’s not about matching perfectly, it’s about creating a story through color that feels cohesive and expressive.

So if you’ve been second-guessing your bold wall paint or bright tile choice because it’s not "on trend"- don’t. The best homes aren’t trend-driven, they’re heart-driven. Let your space reflect your personality, your joy, and your creativity. That’s the kind of style that never fades.
